Ithaca, N.Y. — Zach Zahos is an arts writer for The Ithaca Voice. He writes criticism for all things arts, especially film.

Zahos

Background: Zach is a senior College Scholar at Cornell University, studying English and Film. Zach was Arts & Entertainment Editor of The Cornell Daily Sun in 2012 and Associate Managing Editor in 2013. Zach still writes a lot for The Sun, specializing in a meandering brand of formalist criticism that is as far removed from Upworthy journalism as you can find these days, and he has literally dozens of page counts to prove it.

Favorite Ithaca meal: Zach once had this great pork kimchi dish served in a sizzling bowl at Koko Korean Restaurant and he sadly forgot what it was called, but he recommends you go there and close your eyes and point at a random item on the menu and hope you land on it, like Zach did that one fateful night. Everything else there is pretty good, too.

Favorite way to spend a Friday night in Ithaca: Clearing a crate of Wall Street Journal wine, in his room, by himself, listening to William Basinski’s Disintegration Loops, on repeat.

Fun fact: Zach would love to make a living off sharing his thoughts via published words, but he also saw Barton Fink and knows that road can be dangerous, scary and thematically ambiguous.
