The ceremony, which will be held at the basketball court on the 300 block of West Court Street, also marks the opening of the Rashad Richardson Teen Summer Basketball League. Some members of the Elite will be playing in the league.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Elite took home championship honors at the 2014 Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival, where they defeated teams from the countries Greece, Mongolia and Canada on their way to victory.

The court in which the celebration and games will take place is a new regulation-size space that will be rededicated to community advocate and champion of youth recreation, Melvin L. Bell on Tuesday, according to GIAC.
