Freeville, N.Y. — A Dryden man tried breaking into a house by removing an air conditioner from a window but was confronted by the home’s owner and fled, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Christopher J. Capalongo, 27, now faces felony charges for attempted burglary. He was arrested after fleeing on foot into the swamp behind Mix Brothers.
Deputies were called to Johnson Road in Freeville around 1:10 p.m. on Monday.
Capalongo was taken before Judge Clauson of the Town of Dryden Court for arraignment. He is in the Tompkins County Jail on bail set at $25,000 in cash.
