Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca’s beloved Gimme! Coffee café on Cayuga Street was broken into last Thursday at 11:30 p.m.
But thanks to a prompt response from the Ithaca Police Department, nothing of value was taken from the store, said Eva Havle, director of communications for Gimme! Coffee.
The incident follows similar break-ins at other small businesses in Ithaca, including at The Piggery and the offices of Ithaca to Go.
Ithaca to Go had two safes stolen on July 7, and ice-cream sandwiches stolen on July 10.
The Piggery suffered a burglary on July 20, losing a “significant amount of cash.”
The break-in at Gimme! is still under investigation by the police, Havle said.
She said she wouldn’t release any other details about the case.
“At this time we have no further information and the break-in is still under investigation,” she said.
