Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca’s Just a Taste has been named one of the best restaurants in New York state in a ranking that does not include New York City.

The list, which includes locations from Buffalo to Albany, recognizes the tapas bar and restaurant as one of the finest eateries in upstate New York.

Twelve other restaurants were included on the list, which was released in late July.

On its blog page, Just a Taste says it uses a “Spanish tradition of tasting and sharing a variety of appetizer-size dishes.” It’s located on Restaurant Row on North Aurora Street.

“Being the best restaurant in town means that even after 20 years of business, there’s still a wait to get a table. With 72 seats between inside and the patio, the place is almost always packed, and deservedly so. Dig into any homemade sausage (like the coriander beer link and the deep-fried russets with chipotle aioli), savoring the fact that you’re enjoying the quality of an upscale New York dinner at actual Upstate prices, too.
