Ithaca, N.Y. — A break-in this weekend at a business on Ithaca’s west side was caught on tape by a security camera.
It shows someone first approaching the offices at 902 Taber Street that house Ithaca to Go around the 0:12 mark. The person — who appears to be a man — raises a hammer but does not strike the glass, instead walking away from the door.

Then, a little more than three minutes later, the man with the hammer again comes back to the door. At 3:49, he stands facing away from the office and breaks the glass entry door by swinging the hammer behind him.
The video, a copy of which was provided to The Ithaca Voice, then shows the man entering the offices. He can be seen around the 4:18 mark walking around the office and searching different parts of it.
“He got away with some petty cash (<$100) from our main office; otherwise, nothing of value was stolen,” said Amy Zarbock, co-owner of Ithaca to Go, in an email.
The break-in occurred early Sunday morning, police have said.
“Additional offices in the building were broken into since the intruder went through the hallways smashing door handles but again, no one is reporting anything stolen,” Zarbock said.
It’s the third reported break-in at the offices of Ithaca to Go, which offers food delivery and catering services online, since July 7.
Earlier, two safes were stolen from Ithaca to Go. That same week, a break-in was reported, though only ice cream sandwiches were taken.
Ithaca to Go is just one of at least seven businesses in the area that have seen criminal incidents over the last month or so.
Zarbock said that she hopes releasing the video will help police find the suspect. She said that everyone at Ithaca to Go was safe.
