Ithaca, N.Y. — An Ithaca man faces driving while intoxicated charges after backing his vehicle into a parked car and then driving away, according to state police.

Leopoldo Pena Medina, 19, has been charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident after his arrest on Friday.

Police say Medina had a Blood Alcohol Content of .16.

Troopers watched Medina back up into a parked car on Eddy Street before taking off, according to a statement released Tuesday.

He will appear in Ithaca City Court on Sept. 17.
