Ithaca, N.Y. — One person is being airlifted to an area hospital after an accident involving a motorcycle in Ithaca Tuesday evening.
Emergency personnel say that only one person is being hospitalized and that the motorcycle appears to be the only vehicle involved in the accident.
The Tompkins County 911 Dispatch Center said around 7:20 p.m. that the crash occurred on the 200 block of Lake Street. That street is on a steep incline leading down off of East Hill.
Dispatchers also said that the patient was transported to a landing area near Ithaca High School before being flown to the hospital.
Police and emergency crews were called to the scene, which appeared to be clear by around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night.
