Ithaca, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a report of an attempted robbery that occurred early Thursday morning on the 400 block of North Aurora Street.

Police say a man tried grabbing a victim from behind in an apparent attempt to take her wallet and cell phone. The victim, a woman, had been standing on the block with a man at around 12:51 a.m.

The woman screamed and the suspect ran away. She was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, light-wash jeans and white sneakers.

Police ask you to call them at 272-3245 if you have more information.
