Here’s the account given by police:

Around 11:59 p.m., police were called to the Maté Factor on the Ithaca Commons for a report of a burglary.

The owners told police that they had been startled by a noise in the basement as they were closing the café for the night.

The owners went downstairs, looked in the basement and confronted Robinson. They “detained Robinson as they called police,” according to a press release.

Police arrived a little later and found Robinson with the owners.

Robinson is now in Ithaca police custody waiting arraignment.
