Brooktondale, N.Y. — A teenager has been accused of assaulting an employee at a youth correctional facility in Tompkins County, state police said Monday.
Gaven Knighton, 17, has been charged with third-degree assault for punching an employee of the Maccormick Secure Center in Brooktondale, according to police.
The employee was punched several times, police said. The victim suffered a large lump under his eye and lumps on his head.
Knighton remains at the youth correctional facility and will appear in court on Oct. 14.
