Ulysses, N.Y. — A teenager faces five years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted burglary in Tompkins County Court on Monday.
Blake Soboleski, 18, was originally charged with second-degree burglary in connection with the July 29 theft in the Tompkins County town of Ulysses.
That charge was downgraded as part of a plea deal with the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors say Soboleski broke into a home around 9 p.m. before stealing a flat-screen TV, weapons, beer and more (see below).
Soboleski had been hired by the homeowner to work on the property the previous summer.
A plea memorandum states that Soboleski also faces five years of post-release supervision provided he does not reoffend and makes all of his scheduled appearances.
Court documents note that this is Soboleski’s second violent felony offense conviction. He was also arrested six times previously, records show, including for a felony burglary charge in Schuyler County.
Soboleski’s sentencing date has not been scheduled. A mugshot was not available.

— An X-Box 360 and “about 50 games.”
— A camera.
— $500 in cash.
— A six-pack of Stella Artois beer.
— A Tupperware container full of loose change.
— A “red English phone booth made of tin with change in it missing.”
— A Mosin .762 rifle.
— A Remington .12 gauge shotgun.
— A plastic trunk.
— A knife collection.
— Two cardboard cases labeled “ammo” and “gun cleaning.”
— A compound bow with its case.
— Several arrows.
