Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca police said Monday afternoon that they think Travis Vorhis, 23, died of a drug overdose.

“We think it’s an overdose, but we’re not quite sure or commenting on what drug it was,” said Officer Jamie Williamson.

Police found Vorhis at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the 100 block of Chestnut Street.

Bangs Ambulance later confirmed that he was dead. An autopsy was conducted on Sunday.

Vorhis’ obituary says he worked at the Boatyard Grill in Ithaca and attended South Seneca Central Schools, according to The Ithaca Journal.

Police said Vorhis was homeless at the time of his death. Foul play is not suspected.

According to The Journal: “A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of the Epiphany, 11 Elm St. in Trumansburg. Donations may be sent in his memory to Catholic Charities, 324 W. Buffalo St., Ithaca, NY 14850.”
