Ithaca, N.Y. — One person was taken to the hospital after a stabbing in Ithaca Monday night, according to Police Chief John Barber.

Police cars could be seen on scene near the Chestnut Hill Apartments on Ithaca’s west side early Monday evening.

Barber said he did not believe the injuries were life threatening. He confirmed that the attack was described as an “edged weapon assault.”

Barber said a press release would soon be made available.
