Brooktondale, N.Y. — Emergency personnel have been called to a one-car accident on Route 79 near Landon Road early Monday evening, according to the Tompkins County 911 Dispatch Center.

The crash sounded serious.
The Brooktondale Fire Department, Slaterville Ambulance and Ithaca Fire Department were called to assist with extrication required by the 6:50 p.m. accident, dispatchers said.
Dispatchers said there would likely be limited traffic in the area — about 15 minutes southeast of Ithaca. They did not know the extent of any injuries.
Emergency radio reports indicate that a helicopter has been called.
