Ithaca, N.Y. — Emergency crews are on the scene of a 2-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 79/Mecklenburg Road and Rachel Carson Way west of the city of Ithaca Monday night.

The Tompkins County 911 Dispatch Center said at least one person had sustained injuries in the accident. A witness on scene said one person had been injured and taken to the Cayuga Medical Center but was not seriously hurt. The driver of the other vehicle was OK, the witness said.

The Ithaca Fire Department and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office were on scene. About a half-dozen cars were backed up in the left-bound lane but traffic kept moving in both directions. Crews remained on scene around 6:45 p.m. Monday night.
