Ithaca, N.Y. — A fire destroyed a home in the town of Ithaca Monday afternoon. No injuries have been reported.

Emergency personnel were called to 222 Tareyton Drive in the town of Ithaca around 1 p.m. on Monday.
Cayuga Heights Fire Chief George Tamborelle called the house fire a “total loss.”
“The first arriving units found heavy fire involvement,” Tamborelle said.
Ithaca and Lansing firefighters were also dispatched. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
All of the firefighters who battled the blaze are also OK.
“Everybody including the pets was out on our arrival,” Tamborelle said.
The homeowners were in the house at the time of the fire but quickly left the building and called police. Two people were displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.
A few dozen firefighters remained on scene dealing with lingering embers around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
