Candor, N.Y. — The victim of a bar killing in Candor was identified by authorities on Friday as a man from the Tompkins County hamlet of Brooktondale.

Daryl S. Dayhart, 56, of Brooktondale, died of “blunt head trauma due to physical assault” in an attack that occurred on Wednesday, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Ronald A. Warner Jr., 39, from 111 Ithaca Road in Candor, has been arrested and charged with felony manslaughter in the second degree “for recklessly causing” Dayhart’s death, authorities said.
Dayhart was attacked at Punk’s Place Bar at 21 Mill Street in the village of Candor, according to the statement.
Police were called to the bar at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Warner was arraigned by the Village of Candor Justice Swartz and sent to jail on $125,000 cash bail.
