Rosalyn Degraw, 43, of Ovid, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was found on the east side of the road.

Both the truck and Degraw were headed north on the 1500 block of Trumansburg Road in the town of Ithaca when the accident occurred.

Sheriff’s deputies said that neither alcohol nor speed appears to have contributed to the crash. The truck driver — Eric T. Labore of Binghamton — was uninjured in the collision. His box truck is owned by Custom Courier Solutions out of Rochester.

Degraw appears to have been hitchhiking when killed, the sheriff’s office said.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
