Alexander Mosher was accused of violating probation and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Dec. 4, according to officials with the Tompkins County Courthouse.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday that Mosher was recently arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Mosher was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies with assistance from the Ithaca Police Department “without incident,” according to the statement from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department.
The Ithaca man had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 when he was arrested in September 2010 after striking a utility pole in Enfield at “full speed,” killing his passenger, WBNG reported. Citing law enforcement, the report also notes that Mosher also had marijuana and “prescription depressant midazolam” in his system.
Mosher was granted interim probation “for at least one year” by Judge John Rowley in 2013, the WBNG report said. The Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office had asked Mosher to be sentenced for 2 to 10 years behind bars.
