Ithaca, N.Y. — Cornell police investigators are looking for help from the public in finding a suspect “involved in the placement of a video camera in a university dormitory restroom,” according to a university statement.
On May 16, 2014, shortly before 9 a.m., a Cornell staff member discovered a camera “which appeared to have been covertly placed” on the first-floor women’s room of Jameson Hall. The staff member notified her immediate supervisor, who in turn notified Cornell police.
At the time, police investigators released a photo of the man — but have been unable to identify him.
Recently, however, with the assistance of the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Center’s Computer Crime Unit, police have developed “additional higher resolution images and videos …. from the camera, which appear to show the same individual,” according to the statement from Cornell.
