According to documents filed with the city, the 7,163 sq ft restaurant will be sited on the southwest corner of the retail complex at 719-725 South Meadow Street.

The site, currently a vacant commercial parcel, was formerly home to Cellular One before the one-story building was demolished in 2013.

Documents provided indicate that the restaurant will take about six months to build, with construction starting in September 2015 and completion expected in March 2016. An official opening date cannot be given at this time, but it will likely be scheduled for some point next spring, assuming construction starts and finishes as planned.

The plans for the new restaurant will begin review with the city’s Planning and Development Board in April. The construction cost, which includes landscaping and parking lot improvements, is estimated at about $1.3 million. About 30 construction jobs are being estimated in the application, as well as 40 permanent jobs when the restaurant opens.

Here’s a description of the restaurant chain from the corporate website:

“Texas Roadhouse opened its doors in 1993. Since then, the company has grown to more than 430 locations in 49 states and five international locations in the Middle East. Texas Roadhouse is famous for its hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, made-from-scratch sides, and fresh-baked bread.”
