Update 10:15 a.m. —
Here’s what we know so far:
— A man was taken into custody by Ithaca police officers on Wednesday at the Planned Parenthood on the 600 block of West Seneca Street.
— Reports have emerged that the man was in a vent in the Planned Parenthood but this is unconfirmed.
— The building has been evacuated. There were no patients in the facility at the time of the incident and everyone appears to be OK.
— Police, firefighter and ambulance crews have closed off the 600 block to traffic.
— The man who was taken into custody was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans but has not been identified.
— Planned Parenthood has confirmed there was an “intruder” who was later taken out. Planned Parenthood immediately notified the police as soon as something was noticed to be amiss.
— Police used a K-9 to search the facility, according to a bystander.

Emergency dispatch reports indicate that there may be a man in a vent, but this is unconfirmed. Bangs Ambulance and the Ithaca Fire Department are also on scene, according to dispatch reports.
The Ithaca Journal is reporting that the 600 block of West Seneca Street is closed to traffic and that motorists should avoid the area.
