Ithaca, N.Y. — Ithaca police helped the U.S. Marshals Service arrest a fugitive from Texas on Monday, according to a news release.
Peter Romero was wanted for violating the terms of Texas State Parole after an assault conviction, the news release said.
Romero was rumored to be in the Ithaca area. Officers and investigators found Romero on Blakesly Hill Road in the town of Newfield at around 11:08 a.m.
Romero was transported to Ithaca City Court and arraigned in front of Judge Miller.
He has been sent to jail in lieu of extradition proceedings.
