Why I Shop Downtown

Local Plant-based Film-maker Nelson Campbell and Dr. T. Colin Campbell
Return to Ithaca for a Sneak Peek of their Latest Film PlantPure Nation

(Ithaca, NY) Dr. T. Colin Campbell, best-selling author of The China Study, and his son Director Nelson Campbell, have teamed up to preview the feature-length documentary PlantPure NationNelson and Dr. T. Colin Campbell will return home to Ithaca for a sneak peek screening at Cinemapolis on Tuesday April 28 at 7pm.

The forthcoming film examines the political and economic factors that suppress information on the benefits of plant-based nutrition, while making the connections of this idea to larger issues such as medical practice, farming, and food deserts. The promotional tour mirrors the film’s story of three people working to spread the word about one of the most important health breakthroughs of all time.

Ithaca will be the 12th stop on the nationwide bus tour through 23 cities in the U.S. and Canada to screen and discuss the film with audiences. The Ithaca event will include a meet and greet with the Campbells 20 minutes before the film, Q&A after the film, and book signings of The PlantPure Nation Cookbook authored by Kim Campbell. The cookbook includes over 150 whole food, plant-based recipes and a behind-the-scenes look at the film.

From his home in Ithaca, Cornell Professor Emeritus Dr. Campbell (Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry in the Division of Nutritional Sciences) continues to share his authority on science-supported, whole food nutrition with the world. He does this through the online Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate course offered by the nonprofit T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. This course is designed to fulfill continuing education credits for medical professionals as well as lay people, and like the film the course educates the public on the dramatic benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet.
