WBNG reported that the superintendent’s letter addressed a report that a student was attacked last week in the Tioga Hills Elementary School

As quoted by WBNG, the letter stated: “Based upon this investigation, the Tioga County District Attorney’s Office has established that the accusations were unfounded and the teacher was exonerated.”

The Tioga County District Attorney’s Office declined to comment to The Voice on Tuesday. The school district has also told us it is not publicly commenting on the investigation. A brief interview WBNG had with the superintendent shed little further light on the case.

As previously reported, the child’s family has filed a “notice of claim” to sue the school for damages to the child.

Sharon Russo, the child’s mother, posted an image of her son’s injured shoulder and a brief account of the incident on Friday. It has since generated hundreds of comments, gotten over 100,000 likes and been shared more than 94,000 times.
