Thunderstorms are expected to start in Ithaca around 4 p.m. while temperatures stay around 80 degrees, The Weather Channel reports. The storms are expected to last until the early morning hours.

Winds are expected to be up to 8 mph during this time frame, according to the National Weather Service.

A 45 percent chance for scattered thunderstorms is expected to kick up around 9 a.m. Tuesday and last until about 2 p.m. with wind up to 13 mph.

High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-upper-70s during the Tuesday storms, The Weather Channel says.

A hazardous weather outlook issued in Tompkins County and other Central New York areas says the heavy rainfall could cause local flooding.
