Update at 2:10 p.m. — Owner Reggie Briggs said he contacted his employees about the closure Tuesday morning, several hours before posting the closed sign on the door. He said he was able to contact all but about two employees.

LANSING, N.Y. — After three years, Booker’s Backyard in Lansing closed its doors Tuesday.

The restaurant served up seafood, pork and other traditional dishes at 1638 E. Shore Drive, near Cayuga Lake.

Employees reportedly arrived at work Tuesday to find the following sign on the door:

Owner Reggie Briggs, who was at the restaurant cleaning it Thursday afternoon, said there are several reasons why the restaurant closed. He said he would provide more details after the weekend.
