Update at 3:40 p.m. — Police said an altercation also happened at the scene of an accident that happened on Ithaca’s West Side Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the red Honda Accord allegedly was involved with an argument with the driver of another vehicle — possibly involving road rage or a dispute, Officer Jamie Williamson said.

He said the vehicles continued driving east on West Court Street where the red Honda Accord ran a red light.

After the vehicle collided with a blue Ford Focus headed north on North Meadow Street, the driver of the red Honda Accord and the occupants of the vehicle originally involved in the argument began to be confrontational with each other.

Police are still investigating the incident.
