Bradley P. Hannula, 22, is charged with a misdemeanor for public lewdness after Cornell University Police say he followed a woman in his vehicle while masturbating July 27 on Cradit Farm Drive on Cornell’s north campus.
Police say he asked her for directions and, when she walked away, made a U-turn and drove by her again still masturbating.
In court Monday, Hannula appeared before Judge Richard Wallace while holding a female toddler in his arms.
Assistant District Attorney Wendy Franklin said in court, “This is not the first time he has been arrested on these types of acts.”
She referenced a previous charge and said Hannula confessed to police on video to being at Cornell twice within the same week and masturbating in public.
According to court documents, a police investigator asked Hannula:
“What were you doing when she walked up to your car?”
Hannula responded, “I had my (expletive) out.”
Hannula’s attorney Seth Peacock said during court that he has not received all the evidence for the case yet. His client did not speak during the arraignment.
Franklin said after court that she cannot speak about an active case, and was therefore unable to provide details about Hannula’s previous charge.
Hannula is scheduled to appear in court again Oct. 2.
