NEWFIELD, N.Y. — Two men who were injured in a Newfield accident nearly two weeks ago have improved to stable condition, hospital officials said Monday.

Bradley J. Berggren, 34, of Newfield, and  Johnny A. Sill, 65, of Spencer, were struck by a vehicle Sept. 16 when a forklift smashed into an unoccupied truck, causing both vehicles to fall into a ditch where a culvert was being replaced.

Update: 2 airlifted to hospital after Newfield construction accident

Both men were airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Penyslvania. Hospital and, as of the end of last week, were still in critical condition, hospital officials said.

Monday afternoon, the hospital confirmed that both men’s condition has improved to stable.
