ITHACA, N.Y. — The band Passion Pit will be playing indie pop tunes as part of the Cornell University Homecoming festivities later this month.

The show is happening at 8 p.m. Sept. 19 at Barton Hall. Tickets can be purchased on the Cornell University website beginning Thursday at 9 a.m. and are $22 presale or $27 at the door for students and alumni. The tickets are $30 presale and $35 at the door for the general public.
Passion Pit consists of lead singer and keyboardist Michael Angelakos, who performs with musicians Chris Hartz (drums), Aaron Harrison Folb (bass/synthesizers), Giuliano Pizzulo (guitar/synthesizers), Pete Cafarella (synthesizers) and Ray Suen (guitar/synthesizers).
The ban debuted in 2007 and has since released four albums, including their latest release this year called, “Kindred.”
“Kindred” is the band’s third full-length album. Their debut EP “Chunk of Change” was released in 2007.
In a Rolling Stones review of the most recent album, writer Brittany Spanos wrote, “Passion Pit are excellent at sounding like Passion Pit — they’ve mastered the art of pairing emotionally naked lyrics with sweet, lush synth beats.”
Musician Robert Delong is opening for the band. He was described by Billboard as being a one-man electro-band. He is releasing a new album Sept. 18 called, “In the Cards.”
His album “Just Movement” was listed as one of the 20 best dance albums of 2013 by Billboard writers Kerri Mason and Zel McCarthy
“Dancey, song-based, and percussive, “Just Movement” is accessible enough for EDM-allergic hipsters yet electronically advanced enough for DJ enthusiasts,” they wrote.
