ITHACA, N.Y. — Three teens are charged with stealing two vehicles in Tompkins and Chemung counties, police said.

The teens have been identified as Nicholas A. Miller, 19, of Elmira, Michael S. Benjamin Jr., 17 of Elmira, and Christina A. Elliott, 16 of Wellsburg. They’re charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office released the following information about the incidents:

Sheriff Lansing reports that on 09/22/2015 at about 7:30 pm, Deputies from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Aiken Road in the Town Enfield for a report of a motor vehicle being stolen.   The motor vehicle was located on 09/23/2015 in Chemung County by Chemung County Sheriff’s deputies with three occupants inside.    

As a result of the investigation, it is alleged that the three occupants stole a motor vehicle from Horseheads in Chemung County to drive to Tompkins County and then stole the motor vehicle from Aiken Road to return to the Elmira area.         

The Sheriff’s Office has charged Nicholas A Miller, age 19 of Elmira, NY, Michael S. Benjamin Jr., age 17 of Elmira, NY and Christina A Elliott, age 16 of Wellsburg, NY with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, a class E Felony.  Further charges are pending as the investigation is ongoing.

Miller, Benjamin and Elliott were taken before Judge Poole of the Town of Enfield Court for an arraignment.  All three subjects have been remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail bond.
