ITHACA, N.Y. — An Ithaca man is charged with selling and possessing heroin, crack and marijuana, police said in a news release.
While executing a warrant, William Prescott, 55, was found with about three grams of crack cocaine when he was taken into custody at 8:13 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Elm Street and Floral Avenue.
At Prescott’s home on Chestnut Street, police said they found seven grams of crack cocaine, about half a gram of heroin, a small amount of marijuana, digital scales and packaging materials. The home was searched in compliance with a search warrant, officials said.
Prescott was charged with two counts of felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Prescott was taken into custody and arraigned by Judge Miller in Ithaca City Court Tuesday. He was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of posting $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
Ithaca police were assisted with the investigation by New York State Police and Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies.
