ITHACA, N.Y. — The weather in Ithaca could hit the mid-70s on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperature on both days is forecasted to be 74 degrees and sunny, the weather service says.
The Accuweather website states that the average temperature for this time of year is 52 degrees.
Other forecasts, such as one issued by The Weather Channel, say the highs will be closer to about 69 degrees.
If temperatures hit the 70s this week, it might give record highs a run for their money. The record high for Tuesday and Wednesday happened in 1994 when the temperature hit 76 degrees, Accuweather says.
Syracuse.com is attributing the warm weather to high pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast, which will also keep storms away from the region.
The unusually high temperatures and sunshine are expected to last until Friday, with highs in the upper and mid-60s for the rest of the week.
By Saturday, though, temperatures will be back to normal with the high at about 50 degrees, the weather service states.
