The Protectors Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club of Upstate New York has donated $4000.00 to the Project Lifesaver Program in Tompkins County. The Project Lifesaver Program in Tompkins County is managed by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office with members from various law enforcement agencies throughout the county involved in the program.
The program specializes in radio transmitter tracking devices for at risk wanderers, including those with Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism and other cognitive challenges. Locally, the program trains law enforcement officers on how to utilize the equipment to track those who wander from their caregivers.
“This very generous donation by the Protectors will allow the Sheriff’s Office to maintain current equipment, purchase updated equipment, and train more officers throughout Tompkins County. It will also help us to continue to provide the Project Lifesaver Program to the citizens of Tompkins County,” said Sheriff Ken Lansing.
