GROTON, N.Y. — A pedestrian was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital after a crash in the town of Groton Wednesday night, an official said.

Officials were called to the scene at 7:27 p.m. at the 600 block of Peru Road, a 911 dispatcher said. A pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

A LifeNet helicopter flew the person from a nearby football field to a Syracuse hospital. The person’s condition is unknown.

New York State Police, Groton police, Groton Fire Department, and Groton and Dryden Ambulance responded to the scene.
