ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca police are looking for a man they say robbed a gas station at knifepoint on Thursday night.
Police say the robbery happened around 9:10 p.m. at the Tops Express Gas Station in the 700 block of South Meadow Street. No injuries were reported.
A clerk told officers that a man walked into the gas station with black pantyhose pulled over his face, put a garbage bag on the counter and demanded that the clerk put all the money from the register in the bag. The man also displayed a knife to the clerk.
After the bag was filled with money, the robber fled the scene on foot and the clerk enabled a panic alarm. Officers arrived at the scene but were unable to find the suspect.
