Corbin D. Whyte, 31, of Ithaca, is facing felony charges for two counts to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was pulled over in a traffic stop Monday and officials said there was a warrant for his arrest. A search warrant issued for his vehicle — which police said smelled like marijuana — yielded seven guns and drugs, Ithaca Police said in a news release.
Court records state that police found the following items in the vehicle:
- 46 Morphine sulfate extended release pills (Schedule two controlled substance)
- 4 Lorazepam 1 mg pills (Schedule four controlled substance)
- 97 Tramadol 50 mg pills (Schedule 4 controlled substance)
- Cocaine
- multiple cell phones
- $1,14.20 in cash
- Materials consistent with the sale of drugs, including a scale with suspected drug residue, microzip baggies and packaging material
- Seven guns
- Hundreds of rounds of ammunition
Court officials said Whyte is being held at the Tompkins County Jail without bail and schedule to appear in Ithaca City Court at 2 p.m. Friday for a felony preliminary hearing.
According to online records, he has previously been convicted of felony second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and tampering with physical evidence. Both felony charges contributed to him being held without bail.
