ITHACA, NY – A fatal crash occurred in the City of Ithaca early Monday morning.
A tan colored SUV-style vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a tree.
The crash occurred on 1000 block East State Street on the stretch between Bridge Street and Giles Street. Ithaca Police responded to the crash at around 2:40 a.m.
Ithaca Police Department Patrol Units located an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat. The male was removed from the vehicle with the assistance of additional emergency services, transported to the Cayuga Medical Center and did not survive.
The Ithaca Police Crash Reconstruction Team responded and is investigating the crash. The Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance responded to the scene and assisted.
As of 8:22 a.m., the road was closed near where the crash occurred.
