ITHACA, N.Y. — The Downtown Ithaca Alliance enthusiastically announces the full schedule for the CFCU Summer Concert Series! Free and fun for the whole family, these musical performances will take place at 6:00 PM each Thursday between June 23 and September 15, 2016 at the Bernie Milton Pavilion on the Ithaca Commons (202 East State Street, Ithaca, New York).

The series will cover just about every genre under the sun, from latin jazz to mountain music to soul. Notable bands include reggae masters John Brown’s Body, whose show will be a celebration of their twentieth year and kickoff a national tour in support of a new album out September 9. Perennial local favorites Jimkata (electro-rock) and The Gunpoets (live hip-hop) will also be celebrating recent releases. The concert on July 20, the night before the legendary GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance, is being held in partnership with Ithaca Underground and will feature underground nerdcore rapper Sammus and avant-garde ska-punkers ¡Viva Mayhem!

The CFCU Community Credit Union (CFCU) returns as title sponsor of the award-winning CFCU Summer Concert Series and will be continuing their support of the United Way through a fundraiser with exciting prizes. Concertgoers can buy a reusable cup, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the United Way, and be entered to win a private performance by the Gunpoets and other cool perks. Cup-bearers will then be reentered in the contest each and every time they refill at the Beer Garden throughout the summer. This year, the series is also supported by Seneca Beverage, Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons, Green Street Pharmacy, Six Mile Creek Winery, Greenstar Natural Foods Co-op, and the J. M. McDonald Foundation.
