Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties (TCHFH) recently completed a home at 3937 Highland Road in Cortlandville, and is now excited to announce that they are seeking applications for their next Partner Families in both Ithaca and Cortland.

Now is the time to apply!

TCHFH hopes to commence building this summer at 27 Kent Road in Cortland, which will be a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom ranch, very similar to the Highland Road house. The Ithaca build, which will break ground in spring of 2017, will be a duplex, and each unit will be a two-story, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home.

TCHFH is looking for families who live, work, or have children in school, in either Tompkins or Cortland County.

In addition, the family’s income must be below 60% of the county median for your household size (i.e. gross annual income of $44,040 for family of four in Tompkins County, $37,020 for a family of four in Cortland County).

Please find more information or complete the pre-application on the website:www.tchabitat.com Contact Liz at liz@tchabitat.com or call (607) 844-3529 with questions. Applications will be accepted until qualified Partner Families are selected.

Partner families must have a need for adequate shelter, the ability to pay a modest mortgage plus taxes and homeowner’s insurance, and a willingness to partner with Habitat.

All partner families contribute hours of “sweat equity”, working on construction of their own and others’ Habitat homes, helping with other Habitat projects, and taking financial and homeownership education classes.

If you, or a family you know, are ready to consider homeownership, consider partnering with Habitat for Humanity!  TCHFH is an equal housing lender.
