ITHACA, NY — On Sunday July 31, The Rook will present a three course brunch and rosé pairing from chef/owner Gentry Morris.
For the first course, guests will choose between The Rook’s much loved house-made buttermilk donuts topped with bourbon peaches, or a savory vegetable and goat cheese tart, paired with a peach-rhubarb rosé bellini. For the main course, options include a classic salmon benedict, house-smoked chicken hash, or a summer vegetable fritatta, paired with a glass of Aimé Roquesante Dry Rosé. The meal will conclude with house-made pound cake topped with vanilla whipped cream and local berries, paired with a glass of sparkling Rosa Regale.
The Rosé Brunch is part of a series of special dining events. In March The Rook hosted a Maple Dinner in conjunction with Sapsquatch Maple Syrup in Enfield, NY. Future events include “Richard’s Mexican Fiesta” on August 28, a Mexican fare and beer pairing hosted in conjunction with Richie Shallcross, head brewer at Bacchus Brewing Company.
Two Brunch seatings are available, at noon and 1:30 p.m. Brunch is $25/person +tax and gratuity. Diners may add the three-course rosé pairing for $15. Reservations are available in person, or by calling (607) 319-0180.
The Rook opened on January 19, 2016 at 404 W. State Street, in the former home of the Fine Line Bistro. They offer modern American food and drinks in a down-to-earth atmosphere. The Rook is open Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. – midnight. Full dinner is served until 10 p.m., while a late night menu featuring salads, grilled pizzas, and duck fat fried chicken is offered from 10 p.m. until midnight.
