ITHACA, N.Y. – On August 11, Rev: Ithaca Startup Works and Cornell University will host the second annual Rev Hardware Accelerator Demo Day: “Making Meets Business” – a free event for the entire community.
Rev Hardware Accelerator teams have spent 12 weeks working to move their product ideas from concept to prototype. Each team received support from Rev mentors and technical instructors throughout the summer, as well as access to Rev’s Prototyping Shop and up to $2000 worth of materials to use in creating their prototypes. Demo Day is their chance to show off all of their hard work.
Demo Day will be held in room G10 of Cornell University’s Biotechnology Building. The event is free for everyone and all are encouraged to attend. The event opens at 6 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m. The Demo Day presentation and team pitches will be held at 7 p.m.
Everyone at Rev is very proud of this year’s Rev Hardware Accelerator teams. Some of the team innovations include the creation of a portable hydroelectric generator for backpacking and camping by two Ithaca High School grads. Another team has designed the world’s first trickable electric skateboard. Demo Day is the chance to see many of the innovative ideas that Ithaca’s entrepreneurial ecosystem has fostered.
