CAROLINE, NY – A male mountain biker was seriously injured while biking in the woods near Bald Hill School Road in Caroline on Tuesday evening, according to the Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Company.
Brooktondale Fire and Rescue and Bangs ambulance responded to the call around 6:48 p.m. They used a utility task vehicle (UTV) to reach the patient, bringing the patient approximately a half mile out of the woods to a waiting Bangs Ambulance.
The ambulance then transported the patient to the Brooktondale Fire Station where he was transferred to a Guthrie Helicopter and flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Pennsylvania.
