ITHACA, N.Y. — An elderly woman was airlifted to a hospital in Pennsylvania around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday after falling in the village of Cayuga Heights, a 911 official said.

First responders were called around 9:34 p.m. to a cul-de-sac on Lowell Place, the dispatcher said.

Cayuga Heights Village Police and Bangs Ambulance found the woman suffering from a head injury and called in a LifeNet helicopter, which brought the woman to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., authorities said.

The helicopter, which landed on Jessup Field at Cornell University, left the scene around 10:45 p.m.
