MIAMI, FL — The U.S. Coast Guard were searching Wednesday for  a missing Interlaken woman who a witness reportedly said jumped from the ship.

The Coast Guard stated in a news release that Rina Patel, 32, “was reportedly seen going overboard at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday from the 11th deck wearing a white dress with pink floral.”

The cruise ship was previously at Nassau, Bahamas and headed to South Carolina when the incident happened.

Patel was with family members on the boat when the incident happened.

According to NBC News, the coast guard searched the waters for seven hours before the ship was permitted to move on to its destination.

The Coast Guard has not made updated statements since Wednesday.

This is a developing story.
