ITHACA, N.Y. — Sarah’s Patisserie, a downtown shop that sold coffee, gourmet chocolate, and desserts in downtown Ithaca quietly closed its doors last week.
A note posted to the door states, “Thank you for your continued patronage, support, and love. This is the last day at Sarah’s and with a heavy heart, the shop is closing its doors. It’s been an honor being part of your community.”
Travis and partner Sarah Jefferis opened the downtown location at 130 E. Seneca St., in the spring of 2013, according to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance website.
The original Sarah’s Patisserie closed its location at the Community Corners Shopping Center off Ithaca’s Hanshaw Road in the Spring of 2015.
In a statement from the business at the time, the owners announced that the kitchen was moving to a non-retail space.

A Facebook post from the shop dated Sept. 12 states:
After 12 years as Sarah’s Patisserie, I will be closing her doors forever on September 23rd. I will be on to the next business incarnation before you know it.
Thank you to all my lovely customers and fans.
This is a developing story.
