ITHACA, NY — Throughout Wizarding Weekend, local bars and restaurants are available to help you manage your mischief when the day grows dark. From 9 p.m. until close, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, Lot 10, Moonies, The Rook and Kilpatrick’s Publick House will play host to wizards 21 and over for revelry into the evening.
Lot 10 (The Dungeon Beneath the Lake)

Bathed in murky lamplight, have you descended under the lake? Of course, you’ve entered the dungeon. There may be something sinister afoot; perhaps you’ll see a dark mark or an ominous message about secret chambers. Lot 10’s very own potions master Roland will be mixing two original cocktails: The Bloody Baron (Beefeater gin, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, rose hips, lemon, and dark wizard bitters), and The Salazar (Wormwood-infused white whiskey, pastis, gunpowder green tea and cane sugar, with Peychaud’s bitters). Both will be crafted with ingredients from our local apothecary Bramble in Press Bay Alley.
Moonies (The Marauder’s Hang Out)

A portrait greets you at the entrance to your favorite stomping grounds, where dwell the brave at heart. Surrounded by red and gold, and lion motifs, be on the lookout for shape-shifters and mischief makers. Pull up a chair and try the house cocktail, the Nearly Headless Nick: Smirnoff fruit punch vodka, orange juice and cranberry juice. Your eyes don’t deceive: the drink in your hands is indeed crimson. If you solemnly swear that you are up to no good, you may want to try a shot as well. At the end of the evening, you’ll definitely be howling at the moon.
Kilpatrick’s Publick House (Badger’s Den)

It couldn’t be cozier than inside Kilpatrick’s. Torches on the wall light the way, and enchanted lights twinkle from the ceiling. Park yourself near the fireplace during the day, and sit back to enjoy a non-alcoholic cider, pumpkin juice or butter beer with the entire clan. Elder wizards will appreciate alcoholic versions of the above as well as mead and mulled wine. Try the Fat Friar, (Earl Grey-infused vodka martini with a twist of lemon), or Gilly Water (gluten-free Stoli vodka, peach schnapps, orange and pineapple juice served with a blue vodka-infused pineapple spear.)
Throughout the weekend Kilpatrick’s will offer a Ploughman’s plate, Cornish pastys, turkey legs, chocolate frogs, candied and caramel apples, a Diggory Delight dessert, and a full English Breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The Rook (Raven’s Roost)

Those of wit and learning will always find their kind at The Rook. To enter, perhaps you will answer a riddle at the brass eagle doorknocker, or breeze past the blue and bronze draperies to take a seat among your peers, perusing your favorite books along the way. Rumor has it there may be a few tomes from the Restricted Section just for this special occasion! Sample smart drinks at the bar, including a cocktail in honor of The Grey Lady: Broker’s gin, lemon, house-made Earl Grey tea syrup and lavender.
