Feel a little better about all the incoming Thanksgiving calories Thursday by taking part in the 44th annual Turkey Trot Prediction Run.
Proceeds will benefit the Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County. The suggested donation is $10. Cans of food are no longer accepted.
Anyone who wants to participate should go to the Ithaca High School activities room between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. and write down their expected finish time. Participants try to predict how long it will take to run the 5.5-mile course. Some parts of the course are off road, and shortcuts are permitted. However, no watches are allowed.
The participants who come closest to their predicted finish time will receive a pie. There will be post-run food available like bagels, croissants, apples and cider.
Last year, more than 400 people took part.
The run begins at 9 a.m., and there is no pre-registration.
